Great shot Carlos. Keep 'em coming. That lens is a great lens once you learn how to use it! which you obviously have. ;)
Right, I have not figured it out yet... Either did a veteran TPF'r on Saturday.

Wasn't taking a cheap shot at you JC...I had quite a learning curve with that lens also...and I don't think after looking at today's crop that the curve has permanently flattened. ;) Shooting with a 900mm lens(equiv) is a whole different ball of wax from shooting with 400-500mm. And that is the problme for me as it does great on my FF 6D. That extra reach simply magnifies the he11 out of the slightest twitch. For me it is 1/2000 to eliminate it, even on the tripod. If I use a remote then not a problem at speeds to slow for the birds. As I said, just need to work out the recipe.

Oh no @Didereaux, I didn't take it that way. I was in agreement with you. I am on the road so I can't hit the agree button. You the man, I love you bro.

theres actually a lot of things to get used to especially the zoom which feels to me one must turn twice and thats a big thing to get used too (is this lens push pull able) and all the focus switches and everything i need to go sit with some patience and play a bit and see if i can improve the images too..

One of the members here has the dock and has fine tuned his.

Nice shot, I'm saving up for a super zoom, will probably come down between this one (and the dock), and the Nikon 200-500.

I got the dock as well, but haven't dug into it yet. My thoughts on it, and they are probably wrong, is to determine how to use it, then do the tweaking. Might be bass akwards since I might very well learn a great deal about it just tuning it up. Oh wellllll! ;)

I agree. I will have to wait for the weather to warm up before I really test run this baby, then it goes on the dock. @astroNikon ran through it with me and gave me some good pointers but we struggled to get a good hand held shot. We thought maybe it just wasn't right for my camera but it didn't do much better on his D600 so back to the testing mode.

i was actually going to go for the nikon 200-500 and the guy in the store said i should not waste my money on it as the sigma is just as sharp and better value for money aswell it was more R13 000 cheaper... and the proof is in the pooding it is a sharp lens no doubt as I'm comparing all my pics with my neighbours 100-400mkii and his 600f4 and as we where together that day... i will be getting my docking station this weekend and then fine tune the lens as well as i do have a slight front focus problem and also upgrade to the new software which supposedly improves auto focus speed by 20-50%...
