I just got a new lens, a nifty fifty and this is my first flower shot with it. (hh)

I don't have a nifty fifty but came close to getting one a couple of years ago. Instead I plumped for the Samyang 50mm F/1.4. Great little lens and it gives a lovely bokeh too, like you have here. Great lenses for that type of thing.

Thank you, I appreciate it. That was @ f/6.3, I'm going to go back tomorrow and try the same pic @ f/2.2 for a real shallow dof and peak sharpness.

Here's the 2nd attempt with f/2.2. The wind messed with me a bit so it isn't as sharp as it should be but it's a bit too shallow for my liking, f/2.8 or slightly higher may've worked better I think.
