Some shots from Sunday, some by the river and some up in the hills. There are a few already posted in the little bird thread. I got a few firsts this weekend. Also spotted Linnets, Corn buntings, grey wagtails and swallows, but couldn't get clear shots. How do you get a BIF of a swallow? lol

Nice set. Do those oystercatchers actually open and eat oysters?

Thanks, no they don't eat Oysters, but they do eat mussels, clams, limpets etc.

I did some digging and they were named after the American Oystercatcher in the late 19th century which fed upon bivalves called coon-oysters (hence the naming I guess form the Americans).
