Sunrise at Kinderdijk

4:30 is a bit early for my usual rhythm but I'm actually glad I did it.
The weather forecast was hot with some clouds resulting in heavy showers later in the day... This usually results in a nice sunset and it did.

I favor #6. If you're going for starbursts, go big or go home! I love the leading lines of the railings and the line of windmills, and the "sun's halo" in the clouds.

The starburst echoes the windmill spokes, but of course are not the same thing.

I am with mmaria -- love #1 and #4 best. All the compositions are nice, but I am not a fan of sunburst. To me it looks artificial. Perhaps because I have two sunburst filters of years ago in the film era. I like them then when I just bought it but never really bother with them after that.

I just stopped my lens as far down as it went (which happened to be f/22) just for the heck of it.
I got several shots on various apertures just to try it. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot good sunrises/sunsets before this one so I just tried what I knew and decided what I liked best at home.
That's why there's a few different ones, most where shot around f/8 but the last two are f/2.8 and f/22 (the extremes of my lens).

4 & 6 are my Favorite. I like the sunburst it gives it a heavnly feel

number 6 is great, you were able to catch the bit of colour skidding across the clouds which adds a lot to the photo

#3 is my favorite. #4 is a little too dark for me. I also like #1 very much. Very nice composition. It must be a great place for sunset, it seems very quiet.

It is quiet at those hours and with a bit of luck on normal weekdays.
It's a heavily popular tourist spot though so on days with good weather there's always tourists around.
