Sunrise faux HDR

I do feel that I'm getting better at taking pictures of Sunrises but I still don't feel that I do a good job. Please help me by offering C&C and ideas that I can do to get better.

In my opinion, it's a little over-saturated. I know that the colour is a significant part of the appeal of sunrises and sunsets, but it's too strong to be looked at comfortably for me. Other than that, I find my eye drawn to the far left, if you could have had the sun, or a tree in frame it might have given a clearer subject to the image.

Taking a step back though, if the sunrise was really that colourful, it must have been quite a sight to behold!

Thanks Intrigue. It may be a little over-saturated but it was one of the prettiest colorful mornings that we've had in some time around here. The sun was still 10-15 minutes from coming up and I was looking for an open area to take this one with no trees to distract the view.

May I suggest you consider using a graduated neutral-density filter?
