All of them are underexposed, but the most underexposed is the last one, if you did exposed right it would've been just beautiful!

The first two are not underexposed. Those were bracketed in half stops. Those that were a half stop above (for the first two) had blown out sky behind the clouds and the falling rain was almost indistinguishable. The last one is dark, but purposefully for effect, to accentuate the light and color accents on the clouds. I like the mood that it creates.

Anyway, here is another. As you can see in this one, the sun just broke the horizon. The three above were shot a good 20-30 minutes before then.

im jealous, i like them just the way they are.

these are begging for a good HDR job.

Nothing ever begs for the garbage of photography known as HDR. Never, ever. What it needs is just some very simple basic post processing, adjusting lights and levels. First shot is good "as is", but the rest are too dark.

Amazing sunrise I wish I could get myself up early enough on the weekend one time so I could go take some pictures of one

I dont mind HDR, as long as its done properly. More often than not though, people get it wrong. Levels might be enough for these, short of that, I would be tempted to do a vertical gradient for those forst couple to just lift the RHS without effecting the rest of it. Great images though.

I think your images are fantastic:thumbup:, yes brightening them up would benefit the capture. Are you going to print these ? There's so much yellow in them, gonna be tricky :

loveee the colors in the 1st one, it goes from such a vibrant pink to blue to yellow/gold...wow :)

Thanks. After reviewing the original raw files, I did see that some needed lightening. So I reworked them all and also played with some of the cropping. Much improved. Even for shot three, I was able to find a lighter exposure and improve it while still keeping it low key. I'll repost them soon (modem got hit by lightning yesterday).

I think the underexposure highlights the colorificness of the shots all the more. My eyes are drawn more to the color.

This under exposure, over exposure stuff seems, like not enough contrast, too much contrast, to be all in the eye of the beholder. Some folks like it one way, some the other. If the images fulfill what you envisioned, then they are successful.

None of the highlights in your top three images seem blown. I can see shadow detail. They create a mood, an atmosphere. The line of pilings in that first one, with its wonderful tonal range really makes me smile.
