Those are pieces of bricks and pieces of steel thare are embedded into what actually is concrete cement funny how it ended up mixed in with the rocks at a state park nature reserve.

natural or not the red is a bit distracting. also , i would lighten up with the heavy frame but then i am not a lover of these types of frames with photos, so take that with a grain of salt

hahaha So its not an old red bic or a shotgun shell. I never noticed the steel rods before. I thought they were roots. Oh well as others have said just a distraction.
