Is this pier in WA by any chance? Not 5 minutes ago, I just looked at pics my friend sent me from Oz, and it sure looked like this place.

wooooowwwww. That´s all i can say. But think that could be better with vertical format. Anyway: wow!

The golden light on the pier is wonderful, to let the eye been drawn right into the picture makes it very interesting, the lense flare is quite annoying, though... could something like this be worked on successfully in Photoshop, I wonder? I would also suggest you try the vertical approach (crop the photo like that), it may be even stronger.
