Sunset over the Gulf of Mexico, disappears behind the Blue water parkway. As the sun sets, it gives way to night once more, a time to reflect over the day that has just passed, and the arrival of the next day. It is now a time to rest, a time of "shalom" for me, the time to get in
to my tent, and pull the flaps closed. A time to meditate on the creation of God, and all his blessings, a time to be awake, a time to rest, a time to sleep, and to awake later on. Do you rest in HIS presence?

I don't know, I just pointed the camera and pushed the button, I am new to digital cameras, I have a box of old ones, from the 1970s, someone gave me the photosmart, so, I use it from time to time, summer was a good time to use it, (for the first time)

Could have been a real good shot! As your not asking for C&C or tips, ill refrain. Lots of good info on here to achieve remarkable shots.
Anyway Im not religious anymore really but I do look at sunsets in a similar way. This one looks like a nice afternoon. Nice colored sky.
Keep shooting and capture those moments!

Though I am not religious in the sense you are, I apreciate the will to honour god through images of creation. Sunsets and sunrise are moments in which we get the perception of the "numen" above and beyond us.
But if your intent is to honour Him through photography (like, for example, Gregorian singers make through their voices) I think you should get better and better and better and if you ask for comments & critics here is a place in which you can learn A LOT. I'm new here, but I found a lot of people ready to help me noticing what's wrong in my shots (not in the subject).

If God gives you passion for photography and such beautiful sunset...I think you could give a great service by getting your pictures even better.

So I take the freedom of suggesting you to use a tripod, to better focus the landscape and to use a less wide aperture. Your shots of sunsets will be better. Try!

This camera doesn't have anything to adjust on it, it auto focuses, but a tripod, yes, that would be good, to avoid shaking,

Not this time, it didn't.

Even if a camera is "auto focus" you still need to make sure you have given it something to focus ON, or you'll end up with a very blurry shot, as above.
I suspect that wherever you had the camera "aimed," it was struggling to find the spot it should be focused on and so it didn't manage to grab focus on anything at all.
