Setup:

Tripod, manual exposure, manual focus, wired remote release, base ISO, f/11
Set focus, then place ND filter and hood (can't see through ND filter).

I shoot RAW (NEF) and process in Capture NX2, convert to TIFF, then import to Silver Efex Pro 2.
I used curve ajustments and color control points in both Capture and Silver Efex to bring out the details I felt added interest.

Here is the final color version after editing in Capture NX2 prior to final editing in Silver Efex:

Sorry I'm a bit vague - at work now and I tweaked this one quite a bit in both editors.
If you want I'll post the raw shot straight out of the camera (converted to jpeg).
I tend to edit by the seat of my pants, so I do whatever moves me at the moment.
My only complaint with the shot is the lack of space at the top

I just processed this one from the same day, same place - just a bit further back up the rock face.
I get more room at the top here, but it looks like I cut off the right side. I reality, the shot was setup for where the waves HAD been going and I got a larger one than I expected
Oh well.

Many thanks for the process really interesting as I have just started experimenting with silver efex but have come no where close to your work. More practice me thinks.
