SURVIVOR ~ I recently shot this image at an antique show and flea market. The hairless mannequin stuck me as particularly saddened and introspective, yet possessing an intrinsic beauty. As a two time cancer survivor myself, I could not help but consider the countless women that suffer the psychological effects of hair loss during treatment for this hideous disease, an outward badge of courage often worn not by choice, but rather as a personal battle for their very survival. This image is a tribute to them all.
