The closer it gets to Spring, the more senseless violence. Can't we all just get along??

I was pretty far away.

Agree with, Jeff, nice record shots of them in action. No politics with birds, they just shred you, and no remorse, and they're all good with it.

We witnessed some fierce fighting like this when nesting season came along - which it clearly has in your neck of the woods. The barn swallows return to familiar nests every year and sometimes fighting breaks out and things get broken.

They fight until someone just gives up. Usually an established pair against an interloper.

I'm planning on adding an additional nest or two in an effort to broker peace between the warring parties.
