#1 I like it but I wish I could see the whole swan
#3 something is bugging me but don't know quite what.

Nice shots. I would recommend cropping a bit off the top or show more of the bottom of the swan if available to balance out the photo more. Also, you can recover some detail from the shadow area in pic one to make the eye more visible. I would straighten out number 2, looks like it's slightly leaning to the right.

A swans head and neck are so sexy. It's almost a shame not to use it in some way. #1 is too tight of a crop IMO. You could make it a portrait and use the line of that nice long neck to draw the eye up to the head. =) The head is where it's at!!

Have to agree with Mish. No really, I have too - everytime I don't she gets mean.. lol

But seriously, think it would be better if they were cropped differently. But then again I only like pictures of swans when they are ticked off - so that could just be me.. lol

#1 probably looks pretty good seen BIG on a decent monitor. Reduced to 800x pixel width, it looks less-impressive. I looked at it carefully...the water droplets, and the subtle lighting on the head and bill versus the brighter lighting on the body plumage is, well, very subtle and delicate. The crop is a bit awkward, I think, maybe a bit too much water top, and too muchy on the right hand side, yet still, it does have an offbeat allure. The second shot, while full-body, seems coarser to me, rather more mundane, more point at a swan and click, but the lighting is nice, and the reflection is nice.
