Thank you guys. The first image is a single shot...second image is a two image hand focus stack. Due to the angle I had to use two images to get him entirely in focus.
As for how? Very slow movements and a lot of patience. I tried probably a dozen times in a 5 minute period to shoot him and I got the two shots above out of it. 9 times out of 10 he would fly away as I got close enough to shoot, or he'd land with his bum facing me. Eventually I moved slow enough and he lounged slow enough for me to get decent shots.....then he flew off for good.
