T3i - Why bother?

Recently sold my XSi anticipating to upgrade. With the announcement of the T3i with the 18-135mm lens selling at $1099 and amazon currently selling the 60D with the same lens for $1169, is there any reason that i may want to consider the T3i at a $70 price difference?

skip the rebel series. The controls suck!

This tends to happen each time they release a new rebel - the price ends up very near to the middle range camera bodies (even more now with the 60D being a bit below middle range). Give it a few weeks of actual release and the price in the market will lower.

The thing is if you're moving up from the rebels then 60D, 50D, 5D or 7D are proper upgrades whilst moving up the rebel line is mostly just shifting a little (unless you go for something like the film mode from a non film rebel)

Buy one or the other. Canon needs all the help they can get. :lmao:

Nikon just reported their 3rd quarter results, and had a nice 300,000 dSLR sales increase in just the one quarter.

All the camera makers make the vast majority of their profits on the entry-level cameras, because they sell so many more of them than the prosumer and pro cameras.
