Tamron 2.8, 28-75 mm

anybody uses Tamron 2.8, 28-75 mm ?? I know it's a kind of cheap lens, but I'd rather buy it rather than canon 350d with KIT lens... I know I shouldn't compare lenses with different focal range.. but... do you know this Tamron?

I have one and it stays on my camera most of the time. It might be the sharpest zoom lens in this range for less than $300. I can't imagine going wrong with this lens.

Although, you must remember that on a 350d it mimics a 48-120mm field of view for a 35mm film camera and may not be wide enough for you.
