Tamron 200-500

..anyone have any real life experience with it?I'll be mounting it on a Nikon (either a D7000 or D200 at this point).I'll be positioned anywhere from 660' - 1600'+ from the subject,moving from 200- 250 mph at me.I'm looking to get 3/4 "chute shots" from this.This is a rental deal,and is the farthest reach my local camera shop can provide.While the reach is fine,I'm more concerned with autofucus speed.Any input is greatly appreciated.

I believe coastalconn did most of his osprey shots with this before he got a new lens. I'd shoot him a pm.

It is not the fastest lens ... hmm, I would not say it is fast.
It is a great lens if you practice how to use it manual focus which is doable with the subject you described.
Coastalconn had mastered using this lens on fast moving subjects (Osprey).
