what is that like through the viewfinder? if it's possible to try and describe....

Actually, through the viewfinder one would not see much difference than you'd see using any other 28mm lense until you make the necessary adjustments and when it comes time to snap the picture. One problem with any PC lens is "on board metering" will not work. To get a better idea of what I'm trying to communicate I've attached one of the instruction manuals:
