teleconverter or low-end mirror lens?

Well, if you understood what the link was talking about, that being insurance for your gear, and you had some on your gear, you wouldn't be starting this thread. You would have a new Sigma 50-500mm to shoot photos of nesting bald eagles. 1/3 of the $400 you are talking about having available to spend right now is what I spend a year to insure $15,000.00 worth of bodies and lenses. Apparently planning for the future isn't something they do up in Washington State.

OK, I got it now... I just saw the State Farm part and saw red as I hate that outfit. Quit them years ago as some of my relatives and friends who had them for home or auto insurance got dumped first incident they had. So I want nothing to do with State Farm. There are probably other insurances besides them that carry that type of insurance. When I get another expensive lens, I'll look into it.
