Well, maybe telling not too bad from evil. Both commonly known as honeysuckle, this is Lonicera Japonica:
Originating in Asia, it grows as a vine and can certainly become a nuisance, but it has long become established here in US and is commonly cultivated as a ornamental flower.
On the other hand we have Lonicera Maackii:
This one is just plain evil. Listed nearly everywhere as an invasive species, if left alone it does not play well with others and will exterminate all other competing plants. Large sections of our native forests are succumbing to it's onslaught.
It's serious enough here in MO that the state launched a billboard campaign a couple years ago and the DNR has a program for teams of volunteers to hike through the forest on search and destroy missions.
