Sorry. I don't explain my work. It speaks for itself or it fails to.

If you have any desire to learn/get better at your craft, that's a silly approach to take. Nobody will ever be able to help you if we have no idea what your artistic goal was with the image.
An image can fail in multiple ways, it can fail because the message doesn't resonate with people, or it can fail because the image doesn't effectively communicate the artist's intended message. Those problems have different fixes. One is a problem of vision, the other a problem of execution.
To the extent that this image is not a perfect work of art (do you think it is?) nobody will be able to help you improve if we don't know what your goal with it was. We don't know if your goal is something that fails to resonate, but you perfectly achieved your goal, or if your goal would have resonated, but you didn't execute the image in such a way that it communicated the goal.
I get for a "finished and presented" work of art taking such an attitude. I wouldn't expect somebody attempting to sell an image to explain their work. But these forums typically have C+C as a defining characteristic (unless you're in just for fun). As such, typically learning and understanding is better aided by honest and open communication and discussion.
What was your goal in posting this image to this forum? Praise, learning, something else?
There's nothing to remark on. It's a window, a radiator, a brick wall and a flash. It doesn't communicate anything but those things. There's no story here that I can see, which is why I asked. If your goal was to communicate those things mission accomplished.what are you trying to communicate with this image?

Thanks for your remarks. I find that for the most part, people who want to explain the meaning of their images or explain why they took a picture are just partaking in self-stroking blather. I'm not interested, and I disagree with just about everything you said.
Any remarks about the image help me, and you decided to make none which is fine.
Resonates with me some, because i spent many a night in a apartment similar to that. If the window was turned left so it faced the brick building straight on. And the walls were still painted white but at least more recently painted so the cracks weren't as obvious it would be REAL close. So i look at this and i am there again. Hearing the street traffic out front, the people walking up and down the hall outside the apartment going to theirs. Muffled voices. Thinking of the dripping faucet sound in the 1940's sink with yellow and brown deposits running up it and around the drain from the water calcium over the years. The claw bath tub (no shower). Since it was over the bar often hearing the people walking down the alley way between to vomit, take a piss or often have sex in the alley do a drug transaction. Opening the window trying to get a little fresh air, but there really isn't any especially in the summer. And about everything woodwork was painted over multiple times, to the point it was caked on paint and often flaking off. Whoever painting it dripping globs on the floor here and there. .Thanks, Bri. I did post this before. I made some perspective changes and decided to re-post.
