Nice images - thanks for sharing. These are actually neat formations. I visited there in October 2011, just before the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque. It was neat to see the large rocks on the top of the erosional cones and realizing that these features would not exist if it wasn't for the large rocks scattered amongst the finer sediments protecting the sediments underneath them from erosion.

They ar really cool. I read up about how they were formed, and wondered if the rocks at the top would still be there. ...sure enough.
