These were all taken at a local gay club, if you are going to make a nasty comment about gay people, drag queens, or anything of that nature, move on to a different thread because I don't want to hear it. C&C on the technical aspects of the photos if you wish, but nothing about the content.

1. nice quick snap. looks decently exposed, if not slightly under.
2. good capture, but i wish they were both in focus...they do get lost in the bg a bit.
3. my fave of the bunch. i like the crop.
4. not big on the facial expression, and i think i woulda gone portrait with it.
5. another nice shot, but it looks like focus was missed, and the mic seems to be razor sharp.

what aperature were these shot at? nice set over all. congrats on your new beast of a lens. :D

Does Tokina still make that lens "new"? Just curious, in the future it be nice to get a fast telephoto and some options that aren't over a grand would be interesting to compare.

#3 is my favorite also, nice contrast in b&w. Are you using ambient lighting or flash in the first two? There is a little glare on the nose of your spectacled subject in pics 1 and 2.

Flash was used in all of them because the lighting is almost non-existant and I didn't have a tripod. It wasn't a 'brand new' from Tokina lens, but brand new to me. Lol. I bought it off of Ebay for $485. Not too shabby of a deal I say. Better than the Nikon, way too expensive although the 70-200 2.8 is incredible. I am pretty happy with this one so far. I was surprised how razor sharp the mic was in the last one.

SrBiscuit, I think they were mostly shot at F4-F5.6. 2.8 was too hard to focus with such low light since I couldn't see the eyes of the subjects to focus on. lol
