You miss the point of the contest - the contest system is set up so that it's essentially participants vying for a contract, the best contestant submits a photograph they can use for advertising etc. and not pay royalty fees, and in exchange the participant gets round trip tickets (which do have some value in them, but of course are easier for the airline to pay out).

Which is why I avoid all this crap.

This is almost as good as the guy that wanted 30 or 40 images for his web site.

He wanted to own the copyrights to all 30 or 40 images though. He had a max of $100 to spend.
