Nice set; one of these days I'll have to get over there for that!
2018 was an utter disappointment. Maybe next year will be better.

Nice pics. The last time I went, the 747 was making it's debut. :)

9047 and 7706 are my favorites! Thanks for posting these.

oddly enough these are my most popular shots...
I didn't post them because they weren't even technically challenging.

Not impressed by the top one....and in fact I do not like it one bit...but the second one? The vertical shot... WOW! Very interesting, visually, in the forms shown, and in the so-called "storytelling" that it conveys. The lines that show where he's been (that's what I mean by storytelling)--very cool!

That is just a cropped version of a bigger shot. Just seeing how sharp the lens was. Hahahha
I was borrowing my gf’s 300mm f/2.8 VR II

Here's from an airshow in 2008 where I couldn't even seem to get the planes sharp... :(

or knew to use longer exposure for prop planes.
plus my max shutter speed then was 1/4000s

(Olympus E3 w/ 90-250 f/2.8)

Really liked the B25 shot. Nicely done.

I didn’t know that much about photography then. I should have used a lower shutter speed.

Yes, the purists want prop blur but if it's a choice between blurred props with blurred aircraft and sharp props with sharp aircraft I'll take the sharp aircraft. I have enough aviation books and magazines in my library to say that sharp propellers do not preclude the photo from being selected for publication if it supports the text.
All the full disk blur you see on magazine covers was done with air to air photography
so the speed differential between the camera and the subject airplane was zip.
