Great Blue Heron caught himself a nice big mullet, but didn't do the big gulp, instead hid it in the shallows while he hunted for more...These birds are just fast, they're also pretty clever.

Nice series. It always amazes me the size of the fish that they will go after and that they can actually swallow. Do you know if it eventually consumed it?

I am sure he did, but didn't see it. I've seen them swallow a huge gopher (the four-legged, furry kind) before. It's incredible what they can suck down the skinny gullet that expands at least 8 times its size.
