IMO
I think the vertical is off, his nose isn't straight nor are his pupils at the same level.
And I think the color is far off. He looks cold, pail and a bit green.
His bright side is almost washed out.

Fiance to be????

Thanks! I was more or less wondering why fiance to be? I mean is he or is he not? How do you know he's going to be your fiance??? Did someone slipped and told you?? However, I'm traveling to Oregon, Texas, Miami, and Scotland this year. I can make a stop at Chicago next year. The plane ticket is only $400

Oh, we've talked about it and I already know he got me a ring! He can't keep surprises.

Also, I am not the best at photoshop just yet. Any tips for removing the painting near his head? I have a hard time near his hair and blending.

Reading about channel masks might help.
Maybe selecting a patch of hair and, after moving the edge of the painting, move that patch over?
Considering the effect on the background I would make the color changes on his face only.
