The Cruel Forest!

Hi LaFoto, Insects I think, although I saw a Black Bear about 30 feet from me when I came around a corner of the trail.

 

you saw a bear?! wow... I saw it once too... in a zoo

 

i did this once too, but by the time i could get my lens cap off, he bolted!

Nice shot and very interesting tree....so when you saw the bear did you high tail it outta there????

 

Actually, he heard me first and was already running away. At first this made me happy because I was alone and about 30 miles from anyone or anything other than forest. But then I thought, get the camera up, no chance, he was gone and he was big too, or maybe my eyes were big!

 

From what I see this is just a dead tree slowly being recycled into soil for the other trees, no cruelty.
