The Dark Storm

Well,

Hi all. I am going to be home soon, can't wait.

As August is upon us here in Afghanistan we are now experiencing some storms I had up until now never encountered. Below two photos were taken only with a P&S camera so are not technically sound but I think they tell a story well enough.

This day we were besieged by two storms like this one. Once in the morning, then this one around 5 pm. Myself and a coleague were unfortunate to get caught in this second storm. As you will see it was
actually a bright day outside but turned dark quite fast.

Whoa!! The sight of that wall of sand coming at you is scary. Especially with those dark clouds right behind. I guess all those vehicles got a free 'sandblasting'.

I've seen a number of these sandstorm shots... they're amazing. This is one of the cooler ones I've seen. Awesome colors in the sky above the sand. Very cool. Congrats on the trip home!
