To us Germans, the moon is male. We say "der Mond" ("der" being the article to go with masculine words). In the world of the Romanic languages, it is "la luna", so definitely a "she".

Anyhow, I feel that "he" is looking at us, that "he" has a face with big round eyes, a tiny round nose, and a round mouth which looks as if "he" were astonished at what does on down here .
