Okay might as well pull out the deed to bridge you want to sell me, because you hooked me hard with this one!!!!!!!! LOL
 
you can tell stainless spoonbills as the have markings on the underside that look suspiciously like the words "Made in Sheffield" ;)

Many that live on the coast can develop a red/brown tarnish on their bills, but adult "403"s can be easily mistaken for young "304"s as their bills do not tarnish as quickly in salt water.

Silver spoonbills do not get tarnished at all and despite their smaller size obtain more money on the black market, where their bills are used to make cutlery for the wealthy.
