The Fog Rolls In

I took this a while back with my old Olympus 730UZ. Long before I caught the SLR bug. I've always liked the shot, but I never liked the original processing so I decided to go back and reprocess. I'm still getting the hang of the B&W conversion I got more detail in the fog on this one. It's amazing how fast the fog rolls in once it starts. The bridge was fully visible just a couple minutes before, and the road bed was barely visible just a couple minutes later.

Looks eerie in b/w, like you could hear the horn on the boat, but soon not be able to see it...

I agree that a bit more detail in the fog would be brilliant. I little deeper tonal range might help too. Compositionally, I like it a lot, there's just something about the bridge that feels off... maybe if it had just a wee-bit of negative space to the right of it, or something.

Overall, I REALLY like this!
