The Heart Nebula

The Heart Nebula. Located in the constellation Cassiopeia, this nebula resides 7500 light years from Earth and is 100 ligh years across. Within the image is another, often imaged nebula, the Fish Head Nebula. See if you can find it!

-Optolong L-Extreme narrowband filter

-Sequence Generator Pro for acquisition
-Pixinsight for processing
-Touch-ups in Photoshop

-42 x 300sec subexposures, Gain 100
-3.5hrs total integration time

The second image has the stars removed to highlight the detail inside the nebula.
