The Houston Skyline and a Dodge Magnum

The tones are kind of messed up. Contrast could use a substantial bump.

There's too much foreground, and the foreground is too bright, which is taking away from the car and the skyline. The skyline also has some halo issues.

great shot of the skyline, not a great shot of the car. Though I am unsure why the orange sky to the right of the building is so much darker than the orange sky tones to the left of it.

Does this mean you disagree with my critique? I don't know what you're trying to say. All my comments still stand. You've filled 40-50% of the frame with uninteresting gravel that is just as bright or brighter than the car. The car itself is registering as "gray" because there isn't a black point/enough contrast in this image. The image looks like a poor treatment straight out of photomatix.

Im sharing that it got published today. The second photo from the link is mine too from a charity event I shot.

Could have been the sun positioning but I really dont know. Thats just how it came out after the HDR merge.

not to big of a fan of the halos around the buildings...contrast to high?

Way too much gravel.
Contrast needs to go +20 or so.
Tones are really inconsistent from skyline to foreground.

As others have said, the skyline portion of the image is really great. The car portion, not so much.

Not that my critique means a darn thing, since this image was published. Maybe the art director wanted to put text on the gravel?

Naw, they just pull some from their flickr each week to highlight. The car was hard to shoot since it was getting dark and it is pitch black.

Anyone done anything similar to this with a glossy black car? It was hard to get a good balance of car detail without overexposing the skyline. Plus there was abosolutly no lights around where we were shooting. I was trying to add some fill with my strobe but was not happy with the results so I didnt post those shots.
