The ideal sensor

I want my sensor/processor to be self-aware.

Strikes me as a hideous idea. You can be sure the cameras awareness will not match yours and it would create an image using its creativity rather than yours...
Perhaps the results MAY be better, but you may as well just look at National Geographic if that's all your after!

It reminds me of some of the data systems here where the software insists on doing things it's way. If you only tell it in 3 places to do it differently it will usually ignore you.
