I have a tendency for liking this cute little Salticidae! They have such big eyes and the way the jump on you if you let them is so cherishing!
One of this days I was driving home when I felt this little guy jumped on my hand while I was shifting gears... I immediatly pulled over for a photograph (below) and took him home for a session!

Then after setting up the "studio" and lighting, this is the result:

The gear I used:
Nikon D5300
Af-s Nikkor 55-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VRII + Meike Extension Tube Set
Yongnuo 565IV Flash
Meike Flash (old one, don't recall the model)

Thats a cute little fellow.

Curious I see

Curious indeed! You should've seen him jumping on the lens while I was photographing him! Happened about 3 times before he decidade to wander somewhere else! hahah

Nice shots!

And props to you. Spiders know the deal in my house: if they stay out of my way, I stay out of theirs.

Thanks @waday! haha
These Salticidae are very friendly and virtually harmless spiders! Actually, if you look close enough, you'll see they make for good models with those big cute eyes and their curiosity for the camera! In Brazil (where I live), the biggest of this family is about half an inch, so they're not even scary! haha

Great shots! I have yet to get a good shot of a jumping spider, can never get them to hold still long enough.

Good shooting......
Thank you very much! :)

Thanks a lot! :) and oh, they basically never hold still! lol but once you get the hang of it they are almost predictable... which still doesn't make it easy, but make it feasible! I love this little guys though.. So photogenic!

Very nice shot and yes, he's very photogenic! He should be in Hollywood he's so good lookin' ... move over Tom Cruise!

Really cool but I think he is a she. The female has orange color on the head and the forleg is skinny.

Great set.

Good thing you mentioned taking it home for a shoot. I really though you needed to moisturize. :P

These are really very nice!
Well thank you!! Much appreciated! :)

I think this one is more of a Peter Parker than an Ethan Hunt! lol

Thanks! That's very informative, I had really no clue! Perhaps that explains the insistently jumping on me! lol

Great set.

It does doesn't it? haha I believe Lucas the Spider was based on a Salticidae! But either way, I usually call them Lucas when I get them as a Model! :P
Thank you very much!
