Ceeboy, I'm feeling mixed on this one. I see the concept and it's not bad in b&w, but it leaves me wondering if the color wouldn't be better. Looking at the elbow and hands with the grease and oil makes me think the color would give you more in this situation. (I could be totally wrong though)

Well, I really like the image. The brightest area is the mag wheel cover, then you see the hand, the arm. The mechanic's body kinda blends in with the car body (almost makes the phrase "getting into the work" literal here), and the grittiness of the image shows the nature of the work. It comes across as "real".

I had to shoot in extremely low light to get this image and while I can use the grit of the noise (ISO 6400) in the B&W, in color it becomes too garish, even for me, but I do understand. It was a chance shot where he wasn't moving.

I see what you are saying ceeboy. The b&w does help with the noise of high ISO's. Again, I like this but was just wondering. I agree with what pgriz is saying too.

I'm afraid this one doesn't really stir me either way, so I guess every non-failure is a success.

It works, and he does blend into the car, which is interesting. I'd be tempted to simplify to the essentials and crop the right half, leaving only the arm and wheel, but that would really be a very different kind of image, and probably not what you were going for.

I can get the dirtiness/grittiness from this shot in b&w. But to be honest, with his head blending into the car so well, my first reaction was "Dude, that guy has his head up that car's a$$!" What can I say? I have now been scarred for life as far as this image is concerned.

Nope, this one is where he has his head up the car's rear...

like the balance here. round objects, wheel to head to exhaust, and linear - shoulder, arm and bumper, - complete.

second one makes me wonder how much the alignment will cost..

Old Lamar is pretty reasonable as alignment specalists go. I wouldn't take my car to anyone else but then again, given my suspension system, there are many who will touch mine once they go under. I'll only tell you it's not a stock Mini suspension and what it is will let you turn on a dime and spit out nine cents change.
