It looks as though your lens is giving a bit of chromatic aberration.
Turing the image to B&W will lessen the appearance colour fringing at the edges of the moon.

Thanks for pointing that out and the B&W tip. I obviously couldn't see for looking.

I just step out onto my patio. Just kidding. I used to look at the moon though a telescope when I was a kid. Now, I use my camera with a telephoto lens.

Nice shot! My moon pics come out the same way, so the "B&W tip" is helpful to me as well.
