I just became the owner of a Sony A230. However I haven't received it yet.... Delays in shipping.

I was looking online to see if I might find a remote shutter release, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of it.I know the camera is from 2009, but there should be something mentioned. No??

Q-2 can anyone tell me which specific battery it takes

Q-3 Is there a restriction on what type/size SD card it takes

Q-4 What lens mount does it use? I'd like to do some Macro work with it

I'm on a fixed income so any help would be appreciated

Thank You

Here's the specs on the camera: Sony Alpha DSLR-A230: Digital Photography Review

One of Sony's earliest after the imaging division purchase of Minolta, the Minolta DNA is really obvious on these cameras. I have an A350, it's slightly older brother. They have CCD sensors that will turn out beautiful results in good lighting, but they suffer a bit when the light goes low, so plan on using the flash when needed.

Use SD-I cards, not SD-II. They're less inexpensive and this camera doesn't need the speed. I wouldn't worry too much about getting a card with a lot of capacity, a 10MP camera doesn't use much space, a 16G card would be plenty.

The camera uses Minolta/Sony A mount lenses. There are hundreds and hundreds available for that mount, from mere dollars to thousands. I still use a few myself on my Sony E mount with an adapter.

Now, I don't want to break any forum rules, so I'm just going to mention this so you know to expect it, then I'll send you a private message, watch for the little envelope to light up. I have several A-Mount lenses I am selling, including a Minolta 50mm macro.

Here's the Wikipedia entry for that camera, which gives you the specs, but also some reading material.
