I don't think it's really called the rainbow butterfly, but who cares really - it sounds good! :345:

I'm often surprised by the subject isolation the Sig 75-300 provides to me, and the bokeh is nice too as long as you know how to get it. I use it for almost 90% of all my shots. Hopefully getting a 70-300 VR(used) tomorrow, provided it's not fungus infested yet again.. can't wait to try that out! :bouncingsmileys:

Anyways, which of these compositions would be favourable here? This is one of my better pics (IMO), so any suggestions on how I could have shot, composed or edited this differently would also help me grow. Permission to tear it apart granted! :eagerness:

Beautiful, Raj! I definitely prefer the first.

IF you can get away with it, without introducing too much noise, I'd even be tempted to crop it a bit more, like this:

Just helps get rid of a little more of the extra leaves that just add busy-ness to the photo but keeps the butterfly on a "thirds" line.

:blue: no attachments Sharon!

How about now? I couldn't get the attachment to work, THEN it suddenly wanted to put all 3 attempts to attach into the post, so I ended up with two duplicates. Tried to delete them, and it decided to delete ALL of them.

Need more coffee. :D

Lol.. Yeah it's visible now.. :)

Thanks to you both, sharon and hippy, both the crops highlight subject differently. But i think I'll go with Sharons version as i'm a bit biased towards keeping that flower bud on the right!

I'm using tapatalk fot the first time.. Kudos to those who use it regularly.. This is too slow and painful!

The first one. I also like oldhippy's, too.

I didn't see Sharon's - that's good, as well.

I like the first one! Tapatalk is working again? Last time I checked none of my apps were working. I'm off to check it out!

:D Thanks Jazzie.. and yes it does seem to be working, but I've given up already! Accessing the internet from a cyber cafe, have to get mine fixed soon, till that time not TPF for me.. :(

For me it's the original #1, great shot Raj :icon_thumleft:
Thanks Bill.. I liked the first one too (before I saw Sharon's crop), but people around me (non-photographers) seem to be favoring the second one.. so I figured I should ask anyway!
