Thanks Spanishgirleyes (sounds strange in my head ).. It's funny that most photographers are picking the first one, and most non-photographers love the second one; just shows how learning photography changes your vision of things!

I like smrhim's crop and would also take just a bit from the top for balance. The focus is very good. Detail is sharp. The crop in your first photo is good as well.
