It's been a bit since I've had any astro images to post, but a few clear nights over the last couple months have given me something to work with! This image is of a "small" object called the Ring Nebula. Residing 2500 light years away in the constellation Lyra, this is a planetary nebula, formed when a star shed its outer layers before becoming a white dwarf. The second image is a cropped in version to show more detail.
