The Very Red Poppy and the Bee

[PixelRabbit]

Zomg RED! These poppies killed me this year, the red is sooooo... well... red!
I swore I was done trying to get these right until I found this one with the bee so perfectly lined up.
Would love to hear your thoughts, especially on the colours and composition.
Thanks for taking a look

This one made me try again.

This one was a happy find afterwards

Drats, bump?

[nmoody]

Oh do I love how the bee is COVERED in the pollen! Great detail too getting the whole picture in focus.

[Desi]

What a cool shot. The purple pollen just seems unreal. Nice job.

[PixelRabbit]

Thanks nmoody and Desi

Desi, it does look almost wrong doesn't it? It makes me look at the other colours to see if they are right

[fielddar]

I love it

[Desi]

I keep coming back to see this.

My mind keeps seeing a spaceship coming to land on a very alien dock.

[PixelRabbit]

lol Desi that's awesome
I really like the first one too, I suspect part of the reason for few comments is perhaps bad thread naming, perhaps should have chosen something more than "a flower and a bee" lol

[ilikephotons]

Beautiful photo! Well done. I really love the colors. I think the composition is fantastic as well. Kudos.

[LaFoto]

Both of these are successes, so I think. The first is extra special. With all the pollen on the bee it even took me a while to really detect it.
Of course I also like your bee-in-flight photo, more so since "bee-in-flight" is still a fairly unsolved "puzzle" for me...

I've taken many photos of poppies, but you've shown me something I've never seen before. Great shots.

Thanks so much everyone
