We had a round of the national athletics championships a couple of weeks ago, and I was lucky enough to score an all-areas accreditation.

This is James Magut, who won the mile event in 3:53.74. That's the track record.

This is Melissa Breen, who set a new national record a few weeks ago. We'd hoped that she could do it again because we have a brand new olympic standard track - but her blocks slipped at the start, which put her off for the re-start.

Gotta say overall I'm not a fan of the photos. I find the DOF too large (distracting backgrounds, particularly the first one) and the timing just isn't great, they all look awkward. Not your fault, runners do most of the time, and you have to be very picky with when you push the shutter button to avoid the spastic look.
