Thinking on getting this Yongnuo flash yn460

I just just bought the yongnuo rf602 1 transmitter 2 receiver kit. I already have an sb600 and i wanted to go ahead with a TWO receiver kit, thus the need for a second flash. I'm considering the Yongnuo yn460 - I'm under the impression this company makes decent and inexpensive products, yes? no?

I use there flashes exclusively now after a mishap I had with an sb800 You can buy alot of 460's for the price of a 800 or 600. the 460II will give you a bit more power.

Yes. They are inexpensive and are made in China. For a lot of inexpensive things, durability isn't required because you can buy many of them over time and still not spend as much as a camera makers piece. OCF is usually done in manual mode so having a bunch of bells and whistles you won't use just wastes $$$'s.

For OCF I have been using the $90: Vivitar 285HV Auto Professional Flash

For inexpensive radio triggers I have been using ISHOOT, PT-04 C Wireless Remote Radio Flash Trigger, and 3 Receivers because I can put 2 lights on each receiver, effectively doubeling the light at each lighting position. That means being able to put each of the 2 lights at a lower power setting so they can recycle faster, but still provide the equivalent of a single light at full power.

Whatever the picture calls for. I shoot mostly hard light myself. But when I do use modifiers its usually a combination bounce/shoot through umbrella. I think that gives you the most ways to modify light.

It depends what I'm shooting and how much control of the light I need.

In other words, all of the above.

Umbrellas are very portable and easy to set-up. They offer less control of where the light is going. You need different sizes.

Softboxes give a lot of control, cost more than umbrellas and are more dificult to set-up. You need different sizes.

Silks or diffuser panels are easily made DIY, but offer the least control. You need different sizes.

Don't forget reflectors, flags scrims, etc. You need different sizes.

In case I forgot to mention it, you need different sizes.

well I just bought the 460ii off ebay a few minutes ago. I've been absorbing a lot of this off camera lighting stuff the past couple months but haven't really put any money into it. So now I have two speedlights and the wireless trigger. I can at least start practicing. Any recommendations on basic off camera lighting stuff to save up for next?

There fun little strobes. I've modified all of mine to accept a 1/4 jack for a trigger. I've also added external battery packs, moved the slave sensor from the head of the unit to the front, and added the ability to adjust settings by remote control on one. I wouldn't dare try any of that with an expensive sb800 but for a 40 dollar strobe, why not.lol

How I long for the days of old when £1 was worth $2.

On the UK site of Amazon these are £38 - about £8 more than the US equivalent.
Shipping charges would unfortunately make it not worth my while...

I have added one of these to my wishlist now though so hopefully when my birthday rolls around....

These look similar to the ones shown on the eBay link but not identical.
Do you think they'll be suitable for the Yongnuo and my Jessops 360AFD flashgun?
