Beautiful light! It's so interesting how one section is completely bathed in that light, and then you can keep wandering your eyes over the cityscape and finding all the other places where that light is just hitting part of the surface...like the supports on the bridge, the tops of some buildings, the little patch in the middle of the park. Then on the left of the frame, some of the buildings are still almost completely in the shadow. The angle of the light, the mountain and the clouds on the right of the frame all create interesting parallel lines that lead you right through the picture.

Can you tell I really like this?

this is a nice photo. i wish i could see it bigger and first hand to look around it better. Looks like something that needs to be hung to be looked at correctly. some photos really just dont work for looking at them online in digital world.

Well I had a morning class to teach and got up early, also happened to have my camera prep ready to go since I was taking it with me this morning. I got out of bed and glanced over the balcony. It was raining the night before ( I ran 7km in it ), and this morning, the air is clear but with strong gusts with really low clouds moving really fast. The sun was just about to pierce through from the east and I quickly got my camera. I was thinking of setting up my tripod for multiple exposures since I knew it was going to be really high contrast shots, but didn't want to miss the opportunity (takes time to set up tripod). I ended up resting my camera and arm against the balcony railing and took shot. As the sun rose through the clouds, there were also slanted rays beaming through ( haven't got to edit those yet). Everything was over within 10min because the cloud above blocked the sun as it kept rising. So yeah, very much right place at the right time, except that this is at my place lol!
