Still, though, this is beyond ridiculous. Land of the free, my ...

Well, it's better than profiling, but I think common sense tells us such a system is loaded with flaws.

I'm aghast.
As cliche as it sounds, all I'm thinking is "What is the world coming to?!"...

More info,

After some advanced searching I dug deeper. MUCH DEEPER

Holy.

This actually scares me...

Which makes me wonder... (please understand I don't mean to sound rude!) Are Americans so worried about "terrorism", that threats such as these from their own government seem justifiable? It just seems to me, an outsider looking in, that so-called terrorist acts are the least of your worries. Especially when your rights and freedoms, are being so blatantly infringed upon! And I'm saying Americans, but for all I know that's happening in Canada too, so I guess I wonder about everyone...

I know that my family would like to visit the states, but we're actually affraid of the security and being racially profiled and such, so we don't. I find it very unfortunate.

uh oh its sort of like :lmao:the Minorty Report

this was in preparation for quite a while now. Saw it on a German TV documentary about anti terrorist action in the US maybe a year ago or even longer ago.

#1 I've never felt a "sense of foreboding" while traveling except when going through the damned security crap. I'm more afraid of failing a test than a terrorist activity. The only thing I fear that isn't in my personal sphere is cops (because even if they're a minority the bad ones are worse than criminals) and the government (because it believes the worst in man). Psychos and criminals are fairly predictable because unless they're organized they're weak and if they're organized well they're organized which implies predictable.

It is true, many people not planning anything bad feel uneasy when in contact with security. Hence they appear suspect ;)

I know someone, who almost always gets picked out of the queue and gets extra screening just because he appears a bit nervous.

Here is the entire stakeholders meeting report 27 pages, and 2 MB

I guess they havent had another meeting since may of last year. It shows all the interesting projects like this one they are working on.

Enough searching for tonight, tomorrow ill find more

Interesting again, that such things are usually discussed in the European media way before most US-Citizens are often going to be aware of them.

True. It's the same at clubs. I've gone with people older and younger than me and the nervous ones get stopped and asked for ID. Especially the ones too young to get in as they act all nervous and cagey. Yet because I show I'm not bothered, I'm prepared to be stopped and make eye contact etc. I've only ever been ID'd twice.
