Thought Process when choosing settings

i have started programming my c1 c2 c3 setting

Bennielou, you obviously have NO IDEA what a pre-loaded Tone Curve in a Nikon pro camera can do...it processes the image IN THE CAMERA, EXACTLY the way it needs to be, to maximize dynamic range, with perfectly-placed highlights, midtones, and shadows...you need one for sunlight, and one for flash or flat light...which allows you to shoot RAW+JPEG and have 700 or 800 or 1000 almost perfect JPEG images, ready to review or show, as soon as they are downloaded to a computer.

You clearly need to look into a professional Nikon camera body: your descriptions of multiple AF points and "twisting dials" is hilarious....clearly you're a Canon user using a simplified body...no offense meant, but, seriously, you've obviously not been exposed to the degree of adjustability Nikon offers. DO you know what Nikon's FUNC button can be programmed to do? With one button press and a single motion of the shutter speed dial? I am going to say you shoot the bare-bones Canon 5D series camera, which can do damned near NOTHING quiickly....and which has very little adjustability.

"Futzing around"...zOMG, the work is ALL DONE FOR YOU IN THE CAMERA, by the CAMERA!!! Look in to Nikon's professional cameras. Seriously.

derrel.. when I get a lot of bookings I will definitely move to Nikon. Give me a couple of years or so ;).

MAC vs. PC. LOL. I know you love your Nikon. I forgive you. *pats on head with smile*

Here is the deal Derrel, I have yet to have a third (always team members, I hate to call them thirds!) that hasn't shot Nikon. Ever. Ever, Ever, Ever. So I see both files. My husband Mike, also knows more about Nikons than most Nikon users. (He's weirdly and wonderfully technical that way). But as someone who sees both types of files, on a weekly bases, I think both have pros and cons.

And hey, I'd still be using a 20D if it got the job done the way the 5d2 does. I'm not in the "more money equals better" group.

Now Derrel, really. Open a magazine, and show me ONE shot for an ad that is straight out of camera. Just one. I'll go buy the mag. Just to see this freak of photography. I swear I will.

Cannon. Yummy. Nikon. Yummy. No reason to have a "my camera can kick your camera's @ss!" convo. While cameras have SOMETHING to do with the finished product, it's still just a tool, like a hammer.....

Hugs!
