thoughts on impact brand?

anybody ever use the Impact brand light stands? how are they?

I have 2 of the 7 footers, lightweight air cushioned one and they are good multi usage stands.

this is what i bought.
dont buy them with the umbrellas, they are too small

These are the first stands i ever bought and i still used them all the time.

if your on budjet is limited and you need stands, buy them

The Impact line of products is inexpensive entry-level stuff.

They work, but are not the most rugged gear available.

If you are careful with them and stay within their capacities, they will do the job.

I usually buy wescott, but i need some stands for a shoot coming up and money is a little tight right now after moving.

I was looking at a full umbrella setup, but if the umbrella's are junk i'll probably stick to wescott and try to figure out what to tell the wife!!!

Have you checked locally? I recently picked up a used 13' heavy-duty air cushioned stand for $40 in mint condition from my local camera shop.



BTW, this thread would've made more sense in the gear forum.
