I like the DOF on this. gets the background OOF while keeping the whole kid IN focus. nicely done.
the only thing I might do here is warm it up a tad and crop just a hair off the bottom.
overall, very nice shot.

I really need to get some sort of monitor calibration. Thanks for showing me your interpretation.

I use an x-rite colormunki Display on an IPS monitor.
I would imagine that any decent monitor would be fine since people were using photoshop long before LCD, LED, or IPS monitors. There was definitely a noticeable difference between my monitors "auto" calibration and the colormunki display calibration. i was actually pretty surprised.

I know I need it. When the time comes and the money is there I always choose something else.
